✅ Pre-Breeding Health Screenings
Responsible breeding starts with ensuring both parents are healthy and genetically sound. Our pre-breeding evaluations help maximize fertility, litter health, and breeding success.Â
Key Pre-Breeding Services:Â
🔹 Progesterone Testing – Uses a simple blood test to determine the luteinizing hormone (LH) surge and pinpoint the dog’s fertile period, and determine the optimal breeding time.
🔹 Brucellosis Testing – Screens for contagious reproductive diseases, recommended prior to breeding, but required for freezing semen. All tests done at FFVH are sent out, and results take 5-7 days to get back.
🔹 Vaginal Cytology – Analyzes the vaginal cells under a microscope to calculate the stage of estrus. This can determine if a female is truly in heat, or possibly experiencing an infection, such a pyometra.
